raindrops on roses

raindrops on roses - one of my favourite things.

other strong contenders for yesterdays favourite; coffee with friends, hunting for goblins, fountains, the sheer joy in a child's eyes at the sight of a Huge chocolate milkshake, a choice of 3 gluten free cakes (I might just have alarmed friend with squeals of delight.....), a quilt to snuggle in on a chilly evening, relief that the tiny local sports shop did indeed sell individual football studs and we didn't need to drive miles searching, homegrown courgettes in a risotto (apart from when I peeled my finger instead of the courgette, but apart from that....), giggling at texts about campers trying to put up satellite dishes, kendal mint cake.

what's your favourite thing right now?

  1. Ouch poor finger and I think I would have joined in with the goblin hunt --- my most favourite thing at this very minute is the silence as the boys stuff themselves with wedding cake , oh and the new found addiction of Pinterest if you hadn't figured that out already x

  2. Goblin hunt?!

Is that like a bear hunt?

Yes please to the giant chocolate milkshake.

  5. Now I'm annoyed. When I was 8 I had to do a dance at Pat Brittan's ballet class to 'These are a few of my favourite things'. And now I am singing the blinking song and remembering the terrible white flouncy polyester dress with a blue sash. GAAARRRGGH.
Anyway. Apart from that, the things I am enjoying are...seeing Small after a night away at Beaver camp, pizza for supper, amazing sweetpeas cut from the garden right next to me as I type and watching HP on ITV. All British. Good. If a bit luvvie. I'm sorry you trashed your finger, Hope it didn't spoil the taste... Ax

  6. Those roses look wonderful. All I can think of is how beautiful they must smell. Blue skies and passionfruit and my sewing machine are making me happy today. So is the fact that tonight's dinner is already done, dusted and defrosting thanks to the miracle of the freezer.

  7. Those roses are beautiful. Ouch, your poor finger, I'm sure the risotto was yummy though! :)
My favourite thing at the moment is my new haircut and colour. I feel like a million dollars. Pinterest rates pretty high too.

  12. My favourite thing right now is that I've managed to fix my browser so I can leave comments again!! Hurray!!! :-) Also, the scent of honeysuckle wafting through the air when I'm walking Floss and my new staedtler triplus fineliner pens which have revolutionised my sketchbook! I do love stationery!
I hope your finger has healed. I hate that moment when you grate your finger and look down to see how much is missing! x

  14. My favorite thing right now is reading your packed-full-of-happiness post!! (Sorry about that finger, though.) Those roses are luscious, and they make up for the sad and sorry sight in my own desert, I mean, garden... xoxo

P.S. Fess up the details of your Coffee Lady date...

  16. I'm glad you found what you wanted at the sports shop!

My favourite thing this weekend would be dropping into bed without spending half an hour boiling kettles for hot water bottles first!

  17. What wonderful photos of roses. I have some just like that in the garden on their second bloom and popped two in my office this week. Things making me happy this week are painting slate (see the blog), time to myself, new laptop all to myself (no more sharing with hubby!), a day out today with a good friend. Hope all is well with you.
