cosy crochet

these are the crochet squares I started during the Olympics.

slowly slowly they joined together, growing some more during the winter olympics and then during the commonwealth games. it's definitely been a sports watching blanket.

getting bigger and bigger, with a few rows of granny edging

to make a border

and finally a scalloped edging to finish it off.

just in time for snuggling up, apparently there's a storm coming, and I do love to watch the wind and  rain lash down when I'm all warm and cosy inside x

thank you for all the kind comments on my last post, baking updates to follow xxx

  2. Oh, it is so beautiful.I wish that I were able to do as well. I do love the greens and the other colors...the purple pinkish hues. What could be better for being cozy and warm with both color and the true warmth of a loving and lovely blanket? (do forgive me if i have misspelled and words are so not what they should be..still struggling with the eyes.) And such goodness that you have made this yourself. What is better than that?

  15. That blanket is really, really lovely. But the best thing is how you know what you were doing when you started it. I like the way these long term projects tell a story as they accompany us through life. x

  16. Oooo... this is LOVELY, Tess... LOVE the colors! A very happy, cosy blanket. I like the simplicity of the granny border, blending in with the rest of the blanket, and then that hint of "lace" with the scallop edge--delightful! There's just something so comforting and calming about working a a granny stitch anything, isn't there? Perfect blanket for now. It's been bucketing down with rain here for two weeks... I've got yarn for a blanket to make too. ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
