five things

this week I've seen.

1. Rock of Ages - performed as the high school musical.
80's rock - ripped jeans, band t-shirts, leather wrist straps, tattoos (sleeves and temporary!)
Over 200 hours of rehearsals. Well deserved 5 show sell out.

2. Stowaway
"A Boeing 777 begins its descent towards Heathrow. The wheels unfold out of the belly of the plane.  The frozen body of a stowaway is tipped out and cuts through the clear morning sky."
Incredible production with beautiful choreography, thought provoking story, and a fascinating Q&A session at the end. If it's going to be near you I highly recommend it.

3. Room
An exploration of love between mother and child. Fascinating. Heartbreaking. Inspiring.
Discover your strong.

4. blossom. oh how happy this makes me.

5. The northern lights. no photo. a faint green glow in the sky. the magic of the universe.

joining in with Amy

what have you seen this week that's made you be proud, think, be grateful, smile, stop in your tracks and be in awe of the world?

  1. Aarrgh. Number 5. AND you're further south than me.

Congratulations (she says through gritted teeth, having missed an absolute spectacle by not being at Kielder).

  2. I was blessed to see a spectacular show of the Northern lights on a trip to the Isle of Lewis a couple of years ago, a spectacular sight so I confess to been a little jealous.

  4. 1. the fields filling with lambs, 2. the most glorious sunrise that made me gasp (and nearly drive off the road!), 3. the scent of pink tinged lilies filling the house with an intoxicating perfume, 4.Snowdrops and snake's head fritillary flowers and 5. FINALLY completing the horrendous backlog of paperwork that has been threatening to topple over and squish me - oh the 'delights' of a catastrophic computer virus and the subsequent dead work computers!!

  11. ahhh glad the production went well, I had been wondering what it was this time. Room is fab isn't it, have you read the book? I loved both, and despite knowing the plot still had heart-racing tension as I watched the film! xx

  13. We used to live near the Heathrow flight path and I remember the incident of the stowaway – we couldn't believe that people were desperate enough to do that. Awful. Blossom makes me happy too. Northern lights – how brilliant :-)

    1. apparently there are approximately 140 known cases stowaways like that, although it is thought there will have been many more, lost at sea... so sad.

  17. We're too far south to see the Northern Lights these days, but I remember seeing them where I grew up. Mysterious, eerie shimmers that made my heart ache with the beauty of it all.
    A lovely five!
