an month of photo hunting - April

craft
making progress with my hexagons. assisted by my ever present helper.
Apparently this is His sunny spot....

Horizon
a gorgeous sunset sky over the estuary.

orange
tulips mixing their fiery reds and yellows to glow orange in last weeks sunshine.

something else
teenage boy's idea of how to cut a cake into 1/6ths. I told him to cut it in half and then cut one half into three pieces. This wasn't quite what I meant...........

stick
foraged beach treasures, a long piece of driftwood and some rope. looks like some kind of crazy crochet apparently. I have other plans for it.........

growing
tomato seedlings on the window sill. could be a while before they make it out to the greenhouse, it's freezing in there.

memories
the aftermath of the flood at my mother in laws. We salvaged as many of the photographs as we could, these ones curled and needed carefully flattening.....

fresh
well it certainly feels fresh outside. It's May in two days......

feather
treasures from the notice board, everyone has paper feathers next to the list of emergency phone numbers don't they.......

wet
oh look more snow.........

hope you have a lovely weekend everyone, are you doing anything exciting?
I'm looking forward to May.   Surely it won't snow in May.....
Really don't want it snow on Sunday, K is running her first half marathon. I shall be waving and jumping up and down to keep warm..........

  3. You never know how a teenage boy (or girl) is going to interpret instructions. Love the paper feathers. Curious to see what you'll do with the driftwood and rope. Hope there's NO MORE SNOW and May is sunny and warm.

  5. Brrr, that looks seriously chilly. Love the beach treasure, and my tomatoes are waiting patiently for warmth as well. The cake cutting made me laugh. I'll take that slice please. Good luck to K in the half marathon. I shall be watching football, so also jumping up and down to keep warm. And clutching a flask of something hot. Wishing you all an excellent weekend. CJ xx

  7. Lovley take on the challenge and did laugh at the sticks and rope looking like giant crochet. Boys and their cake, eh! We are experiencing weird weather down under too, with it being very warm some days in April. Have a good weekend and take care.

    1. the funniest thing about the cake is that after he'd cut it he announced it was mushroom cake. Mushrooms are the things he dislikes most in the whole world! x

  9. Great cake slicing! I'm intrigued about what you have planned for your beach treasure - a swing maybe? Those tulips look gorgeous in the sunshine. Good luck to K for her half marathon - fingers crossed that we don't have any more of the snow whilst she's doing it. Wrap up warm. xx

  12. Your tulip photo is beautiful, light and colours are intense and magic. Teenage logic is most intriguing. Keeping my fingers crossed for a warmer day for you and K to enjoy the running/watching. x

  14. Love the cake story, priceless! I too am hoping that it does not snow in May but if it does I am holding out hope that a cold spring means we will have a warm summer.......or perhaps that will just be in my dreams!

  17. Great pictures Tess! I love the cake shot -- that's the way we generally slice cakes and we take a lot of flak for it from people who aren't used to it LOL! We're having a late spring here too -- no snow though!

  19. I've been missing your posts lately, Tess, and I'm sorry. I really enjoyed seeing these photos of life around you. The cake photo made me laugh out loud because I have two people in my house who would do the same thing and one of them is a grown man. :)

  21. Love the puss cat and the cake. Our weekend was due to be spent, at least on the Monday, in a field watching a reenactment Sharpe style. Unfortunately the weather was vile so we went to a pub for lunch instead! Saturday afternoon was spent by the side of the road in the sun waiting for the Tour de Yorkshire. The TV picture was restored just before it reached us. When I saw myself albeit fleetingly on the coverage I was aghast at how orange my hair looked. Wish that we had today's weather on Monday I would have got loads done xx

It is Mother's Day today so I wish you a wonderful Mother's Day....mother's should be celebrated every day!
