skip treasure

here it is.

my skip treasure

much to Miss K's embarrassment.
quote "you can't steal things from a skip"

I didn't steal by the way, I asked politely.

although when we went back later with the car it was very dark and I did wonder what the skip's neighbours might be thinking.....

the treasure is currently in the garage, in need of a very good clean, some heavy duty tlc and some love.
hope you have a lovely weekend, and maybe you'll find some treasure too.

  5. WOWSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love skip treasure. I can often be seen pulling chunks of wood out of local skips (with owners permission) to throw onto our woodburner.
But that is the best skip treasure I've ever seen.

  7. Oh look at those cute little drawers. I'm speechless at the thought that someone would put that in a skip. A friend of mine took two Van Gogh style chairs from one recently and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them at all, in fact they're gorgeous. Don't understand it!

  11. Blimey! Lucky find! You need to have a look at Julia's post about restoring her old machine (Marmalade Kiss). She did a great job.

  16. Squeak!! That is EXACTLY like the Singer machine that I learned to sew on. I can still remember the dusty feel of those tiny wooden drawers. I seem to remember it had a wooden cover for the machine but I imagine that did not survive the trip to the skip.

  17. These are snapped up pronto when they came into the charity shop. The only thing we've nicked from a skip was our own tap....well it was the beautiful chrome mixer tap from the house we had sold two houses down from where we moved to. They were putting i a new bathroom. Eight years on & it's stil on our bath

  24. This is just like my mum's old one. Crazy to find such a beauty in a skip! I hope you get it working. I used to love messing about with my mum's when I was a kid, and I remember accidentally wheeling the needle through my nail once. Eeek!
