lessons in romance

E: what are you doing mummy?
me: I'm helping daddy make this new flower bed.
E: More flower beds! Why do we need More flower beds?
me: because daddy doesn't buys me flowers, instead he's building me a flower bed I can grow some.
E: why don't you just buy your own flowers?

oh dear, the boy has a lot to learn about romance.......

  2. Similar lessons needed here too. Perhaps it should be a new subject on the National Curriculum. Ax

  3. Important lessons being passed down!

How exciting you are making a cutting patch. I love mine and am amazed at the amount of cut flowers it supplies. Have fun!

  5. I gave up on waiting for flowers a long time ago - now I just buy my own.

Maybe it's programmed into them like doing the washing up badly so you won't be asked again.

  6. haha... that is TOO CUTE! The fine art of romance does seem to be drooping in some ares in this modern age, doesn't it? With equality between the sexes more in focus, we girls have to buy/grown our own flowers now...LOL! Thanks for the welcome home at my place.
Lovely to be back and catching up with you here after our travels. I think we'll need the weekend to get over the jet lag and get back on track. ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

  9. This post made me smile :)
The last time my husband bought me flowers I said to him "what have you done". He had indeed booked a walking trip with his friends... I know him so well!
Flowers cut from the garden are so much nicer than shop bought anyway.
Have a lovely weekend. Abby x

  12. Today is our 6th anniversary so earlier we all went out for a meal . Halfway through he put down his cutlery with a big ' OH SUGAR'. What's wrong I asked ?? He'd only forgotten to go and pick up a bunch of flowers he'd had made up for me at the florist because he was too busy playing his new Playstation game !!!!

  13. Teach him, teach him! And then come and teach my husband who has No Clue. Fortunately the supermarket happily sells me flowers when I have none of my own to pick.

  14. So funny! It's lovely to grow flowers to cut - then you can have exactly the ones you want, in the colours you like best!
