last days of summer

last week we were gifted with some gorgeous weather, and it was a joy to be able to make the most of it, and pack up a dinnertime picnic, and even when your dinner takes far too long to cook (because you forgot one of the essential ingredients.....)

it is ok, because then you have longer to sit and enjoy the gorgeous sunset.

  1. I love your sunset picture, I especially like the perfect row of silhouetted buildings.

  2. I can remember making a sunset picture at school which was supposed to look like the photo you took. It didn't. Miss Belchamber (now there's a name) wasn't too impressed. She rather liked Stephanie Watson's. Ax

  5. That is such a lovely sunset picture and hard to believe it was only a week ago too. Wet and wild today... autumn has arrived in Northumberland for sure!

  8. Our summer weather has well and truly gone. Last night was horrendous, with a thunderstorm to be proud of. Gales and torrential rain (and hail). The wind chill was minus one. Very battered this morning. Roll on next summer...

  11. It seems crazy to be picnicking in October, doesn't it? And it was so warm here last week that I even went without a hottie in bed!

  14. You should frame that sunset picture - it's really good. Can't believe we had that nice spell now ... seems so dull and cold today!

Seems to be time for Winter now unfortunately. I've already had to have the gloves and hat out some days.
