end of summer

So it's the last day of the summer holidays.

We have very few plans.

We need to go and get a new front door key cut, so that Miss K can have her own.

I think we need to go out for cake.

New stationary has been bought.

School trousers were the last emergency purchase.

E could have done with a haircut, but it can wait I suppose....

I am trying to look forwards not backwards.

But it is hard. It has been a wonderful summer.

I am not quite ready for it to end.

  4. I'm sensing you feel the same slight melancholy I have. Little one goes back tomorrow, big one starts her new school on Thursday. I have a few nametapes to sew on this afternoon, then I'll pack the bags and that, I hope, will be that. Sigh.

  5. {Sigh}. I don't blame you. It looks like you've had the best summer with perfect weather. Good luck to your kidlets in their new schoolyear!

  6. It is difficult to say goodbye, I do know. My boys are all grown and I was a teacher for years, so I do understand the angst of saying farewell to a carefree and unscheduled season. Sending wishes that Autumn will be just as lovely, tho. quite different, I know. There is such a wistful feeling for such a fleeting and lovely space of abundance and goodness.
