beautiful petals in a sheltered corner of a walled garden
incredible depth of colour inside an iris
gorgeous ironwork on a gate that I am longing to translate into a quilting pattern,
the company and friendship of a good friend,
and an amazing tin of buttons at the charity shop. I am in button heaven.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, the buttons! What a fabulous find. :) Laura x
ReplyDeleteI dream of finding the perfect Charity Shop button box. Looks like you did it!
ReplyDeleteOoh, such loveliness! Can't wait to see the quilt you come up with... xoxo
ReplyDeleteall totally beautiful, the iron gate would look amazing as a quilt design x
ReplyDeleteI hope so, now I just need to add it to the list of quilts in my head...
DeleteI am obsessed with buttons and have serious envy that you managed to find a tin in a charity shop. All the ones here sell buttons in individual little bags with one type in each. I love sifting through a new tin full! Enjoy! X
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely day! What a fantastic button find. x Susan

thankyou, it was lovely, and I am so happy with the buttons!
DeleteOh wow, what an amazing button find! You jammy thing ;D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, gorgeous ironwork (I adore wrought iron) and buttons...a simply wonderful post about lovely things. Don't you just love getting your hands in amongst all those buttons?! The sounds they make and the feel of them running through your fingers all the while thinking about what you will do with them. Doesn't take much to please me! Hehe
DeleteHave a fab weekend,
Anne xx
I had to stop myself from leaping about the shop in button happiness!
DeleteThe camelia photo is beautiful, I can see lots of buds in the background waiting to bloom, it'll look terrific once in full flower. I'm not sure our camelias are going to do much this year, not many signs yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat button find, I managed to get a full vintage tin of buttons one time so I know the feeling!
That first photo is absolutely gorgeous. And can't wait to see what you do with all those buttons! K x
ReplyDeleteThere were lovely miniature iris just like that when we went to Lyme Park. Such intense colour for a tiny flower. (My rhubarb is also showing signs of life, but not as advanced as yours)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are inspired by an ironwork gate of all things! I would have been similarly inspired by it and even now I may try to get the pattern onto a pot at some point. What are we like! xC
ReplyDeleteOh the buttons! And the flowers. But the buttons! You lucky thing. Enjoy every last one of them. Your pink camellia might be saying spring to you, too, but the buds on ours say that autumn is finally here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Camilia, I love this time of year so much, shaking off the winters greys and browns with pinks and yellows and green, lots and lots of green, hooray! Also congratulations on your button find, I dream of such glorious finds. - Annie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous camellia and iris photos, and the iron gate looks like blackwork embroidery to me. Such an amazing button stash you found.... I would love to have discovered that myself!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Mother's Day.

Gorgous flower photo's the colours are outstanding. It would be fantastic to see a quilt make inspired by that beautiful ironwork. What a fantastic find with all those button's - I need to get to my local charity shops soon before I have withdrawal symptoms.

Oh, love the buttons! And that ironwork is wonderful. I had a great button find a while back, but not as good as that one!
ReplyDeleteLucky you, with all those buttons!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic haul of buttons! The ironwork is really gorgeous, and really reminds me of a design from Castell Coch I used as inspiration for screenprinting fabric in Textiles at school! It would work so well as a quilting design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a button haul! Fabulous, always useful. I covered two paper shades with random buttons in semi opaque colours and they're always commented upon. Beautiful photo's, love the ironwork. Jx
ReplyDeleteOh yum fabulous buttons and I can see exactly why you want to turn that ironwork into a quilt, a really fabulous idea.
ReplyDeleteCKx
That's so funny - I keep my buttons in the same M&S tin and some of yours look very similar to mine - feels like I should check that my tin is still here. Wish charity shops around here had craft supply items - can't wait till Max is old enough so I can go hunting further afield.
ReplyDeleteOh, sooo LOVELY--blooms and buttons too. ;o) Happy Spring, Tess ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteGorgeous buttons, what a find! And the flowers... Alas, we are still buried under the snow. Your photos are a breath of Spring to me :D
ReplyDeleteoh I am so glad we didn't get much snow this winter!
DeleteThe joy of feeling a myriad of buttons trickle through your fingers. Heaven indeed
