looking back at walks in the snow

thankyou for all the kind words on my last post. I am sure that the week ahead will be a little calmer.....

I realised that one of the things I was struggling with was that I wasn't able to get out for a walk.

So I consoled myself by looking at photos taken when the snow and ice were here.

This road down to the ford was a sheet of ice, I stuck to the muddy edges for safety here!

obligatory feet shot, I should have taken it where the snow was deep!

Up on the back lane the snow drifts were quite impressive!

and I wasn't the only one who was out for a walk!

which reminds me, thanks for all the slipper recommendations x

  1. Gorgeous photos! Love the sheep in the track through the snow. Just grey and raining here, the snow at least makes everything look bright! Xxx

  5. Wow those drifts are impressive - you had a lot of snow! Nothing beats a good walk in the snow on a blue sky day with big lungfuls of frosty air to clear your head and redden your cheeks. You do need a pair of warm slippers to put on when you get back home though - I hope you've tracked a pair down x

  7. Aww! That sheep! I love her little pathway. Blanketed again here and getting thoroughly hacked off with it. Not many more days until March and spring now ...

  8. Gorgeous images :) You're right, walking in the big outdoors is a need not a want, and it's especially fun when there's snow :D

  9. I hope your feet are warmer now - my circulation comes to a grinding halt halfway down my shins so I buy house boots from Celtic Sheepskin - not cheap but they last for years and you can get them resoled. Worth every penny - they often do 15% off so that helps a bit.

Re the anonymous comments above - what on earth are bucket trucks?!

Anyway, hope you had a better week.

  10. Hello Mr Sheep. What glorious snow pictures, we didn't really have any this year, it isn't the same in the city anyway. Have a lovely week - Annie

  12. Did you get much snow at the weekend? I was amazed on Saturday at the difference between Sunderland, where it snowed and melted instantly and Newcastle, where there was deep slush on all the pavements. I'm looking forward to spring but would quite like some snow deep enough to keep everyone off work and school for a few days - it's probably not going to happen this year though! Lucy x

We had NO SNOW at all - just coldness. And before that a gazillion tonnes of rain. But none of the white stuff.
