random Sunday night musings

I've been a google mail user for over 6 years, ever since I created this blog. (guess that means I missed it's 6th birthday - oops).

I've JUST discovered the Tasks option.

little lists right there in amongst your email account. why oh why didn't I know about this before. oh how I love to write lists, and then promptly lose them...............

I decided to have a blog layout change around.

and make a new header.
which is the wrong size. but will do for now.......

I thought it would take me about 20 minutes, as I really need an early night.  It was Miss K's birthday party last night. I am quite tired.

so far it has taken over 2 hours.
blog design when you are tired is not a good plan.

I'd already changed it to a left sided menu. I don't think I like it but I don't know if it's just because it's not what I'm used to. I'm left handed, I should like left sided things...... do I just prefer it the right as that's what everyone else does?

I seem to have lost my profile bit. I wrote a new one. it doesn't sound right.

Miss K has a French exam on Tuesday, which is her birthday. She is not impressed about it. She has eaten lots of cake.

so far in the last week I have made two birthday cakes, both for children who haven't had their birthdays yet, but who due to various reasons celebrated early. Neither cake has been gluten free, so I haven't had any. On Tuesday there will be another cake, which I Shall be eating some of.
Oh and there will be pancakes for breakfast.
Apparently if you have a French exam you deserve to have pancakes for breakfast.

Miss K may not be a natural linguist, but I think she might make a good diplomat......

Monday morning. I've changed it back to a right sided template. I decided it looked too messy on the left, I wanted white space before the posts. I like Sue's theory too.

  1. Lovely new blog header, clever you. I can't do anything technical at all without great difficulty and a huge amount of bad language and muttering to myself. Happy birthday to Miss K for next week, and lots of luck for the French exam. With pancakes for breakfast she should be fine I think.

  2. I like your new look and if that's what you can do when you're tired, just think what you could achieve when you're on top of your game! Hope Miss K does OK in the French exam ..... and shouldn't that be 'Crepes' ?? xCathy

  3. Well of course all the best people are left-handed but I like my blog to have right sided menu and I think it is because I like the main part of the blog -the posts to be on the left.

While we're on the subject, they say left-handers find it easier to knit continental style holding the yarn in the left hand. I don't at all. I think it is because I was a crocheter before I was a knitter and as a left-handed crocheter I held the yarn in my right hand so it feels comfortable to hold it in my right hand as a knitter too.How about you Tess?

  4. Beautiful new blog header! I prefer this type of layout too -- we read from left to right -- I want people to be able to read the post first without having to read all the junk on my sidebar which is always the same. It's so clean and pretty here!

  5. A belated happy birthday to her! And a good blog re-jig is always cleansing - I like yours.

  6. Sidebars are on the right are more visually pleasing, sidebars on the left suit advertisers. I'll never be rich ... I keep turning the latter down. The new header looks great :D
