According to my calendar this Thursday is "get excited about Christmas day". Both of the teenagers have birthdays before Christmas and those are definitely the focus of excitement right now! I might get involved with "panic shopping day" but it's more likely to be a frantic hunt for a gluten free pudding than an online present buying spree...
I do love December, the birthday parties and family visits, and cake and fairy lights and the smell of cinnamon and cloves and boxes of oranges.
and at the end of the month the most exciting day of all?
"prepare to take the following year by storm day" !
Happy December everyone x
LOVE that, I shall definitely be celebrating "prepare to take the following year by storm day". Good luck with the birthdays. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteHappy December to you, too! We also have a birthday to go (just one, phew) so all the Christmas excitement is a bit suppressed. I do like the smell of Christmas trees, the real kind. I was by the way impressed with your party preparations! Maybe you could organise our kids parties next year?

Love that mini mantra! Happy December days of joy and preparation to you!
ReplyDeleteI wish you lots of fun and happiness on the birthdays. Your December is my September. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not allowing myself any festive excitement until next Monday (I know that is leaving it very fine) but I have an exam then so until that bit of stress is out of the way.... have fun with the birthdays x
ReplyDeletehope the exam goes well x K has a maths exam on her birthday. she is not impressed...... x we don't decorate till after the parties. well apart from the fairy lights. they are already up, to counteract the gloomy skies x
DeleteWhat a lot of celebrating you will be doing this month! I hope you will have time for lots of tea and cake, always cake, eh? I am liking the sound of preparing to take the following year by storm.....
ReplyDeleteI hope there will be lots of time for tea as well. I think I'll need it.
Deletelet's take the following year by storm together!
I will definitely be having a 'panic shopping day' as I haven't done a thing yet. Hope the parties go swimmingly. Have fun x
ReplyDeleteI have just panic bought some birthday presents........... and the thing that E wants the most is sold out................. x
DeleteI tried not putting decorations up until after E's birthday one year. It was miserable putting them up four days before Xmas! Technically I should have taken them down on Boxing Day in prep for J's birthday the following day but somehow that seemed miserable too so now I tell them to embrace their Xmas birthdays. I do sympathise though. Exams on birthdays! Should be a law against that! Xx
ReplyDeleteLots of birthdays round about now for us too - hectic isn't it?! I love the idea of 'take the year by storm' day, although I think I'll need a lot of Christmas chocolate first, just to build up my strength! xx
ReplyDeleteyes chocolate will be the perfect fuel for take the year by storm day x
DeleteI hope that everything in December will be fun for you and not stressful! A suggestion for a GF pudding, pavlova or meringue of some kind, naturally GF, everyone can have it and you can buy a meringue nest or little ones and it is very easy! Hope that helps! xx
ReplyDeleteHow on earth can it be time for another calendar page already? Another great one -- my calendar would read panic on every day -- I haven't done anything to prepare anymore. Will you have another calendar just like this one next year? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteDecember sounds good, I'm having trouble picking my favourite thing on that list! Hope the birthdays went brilliantly.
