enjoying the winter Olympics

A recent tidying up of the study unearthed a wealth of unfinished projects.
A cushion was quickly finished to add patriotic support to the sofa.

A basket of crochet granny squares in varying stage of completion was a project started during London 2012 Olympics. It seemed a fitting time to start it up again, and there is now a satisfying pile of growing squares which correspond to snowboarding slopestyle, half pipe, curling, and ski jumping. Ok I'll admit it. I'll watch any of it.

We made some decorations to celebrate the Olympics

which very briefly summoned our own snow, not enough for any extreme sport, which is fine by me, as I much prefer to watch it, it all looks far too dangerous to consider attempting.

I prefer to sit with a cup of tea, in my new flannel pj's.
excuse me I have to go, the ice hockey has just started again.

  3. Eeek! I haven't watched any of it! It wasn't intentional, I just haven't really got round to it. Maybe that's why we're not getting any snow?!

  9. LOVE, love, love the Union Jack Cushion, Tess! (I lately bought some fabrics to make something similar. ;o) Crochet is so soothing while watching something. Though I must confess we've not been watching the Olympics as we don't have a TV anymore... People thing we're metal... LOL! Your new PJ's are very pretty. Must have flannel for winter! Wishing you & yours a LOVE-filled Valentine's Weekend ((HUGS))

  10. Yes lots of tea being drunk and crafty work done here too while the Olympics are on. Unfortunately it also means not much sleep either as it's on all night over here!

  12. I know what you mean, that snowboarding is just completely mad isn't it, but addictive. Looks like fun - if only I were 40 years younger! Gorgeous union jack cushion - I think we should change the flag to look like your cushion - much prettier! xCathy

  13. I know this sounds ridiculous but I keep forgetting to watch ... I'm just too busy ... something has to give around here soon because I will be very cross if we get to the closing ceremony and I haven't caught any of it bar ten minutes of ice dance and a single luge!

Pretty colours in that crochet :)
