march madness

hello March. I am liking you already, you are bright and sunny, although freezing and windy..... I am so looking forward to  "pancakes AGAIN day" and "ponder the universe day" I think that everyday should be "be at one with chocolate day" however, which probably goes well with "don't take no for an answer day"

I shall not however be having any more clean outs, or de-cluttering, I cleared out my clothes recently and am already regretting the de-cluttering of a linen skirt......... also if I cleared out my study I may not have had to hand purple sequins, really strong thread to mend a watch, and eyelets to mend the 2 day old pair of sneakers that the teenage boy attempted to destroy.............

March also contains Comic Relief, the excuse to do something silly for charity. Emma of Silverpebble has been a true superhero by editing a truly fantastic magazine called the Big Comic Relief Crafternoon - (search for their facebook page) with loads of amazing delights raising money for some incredible causes. Go get one from Sainsbury's if you're in the UK, download it on googleplay or itunes (search for crafternoon)  if you're not, and make yourself a guinea pig or a flock of birdies because everyone needs one, even my cats.

  2. I can definitely get on board with being at one with chocolate. I never throw out linen, although I do chop it up into things. There's always a danger with decluttering that you will get rid of something you suddenly want back one day. I hope you have a really lovely March Tess. CJ xx

  12. I know February is a short month, but boy did that March calendar seem to come round quickly there. I will hunt down a copy of that magazine in Sainsburys, those birds and the guinnea pig look very cute. But I have decided that there's been far too much being as one with chocolate recently and it's not helpful! It needs to be a eat more veggies, do a bit more exercise and stop feeling sluggish month instead! I feel for you with the linen skirt :(

  14. Ah March. I love seeing your calendars -- thanks for sharing them. I could definitely get onboard with "be at one with chocolate day" -- sounds wonderful! And I seriously need to declutter the sewing room -- but like you say ... you just never know when you might need a whatsit!

  15. That guinea pig is psychedelic! I love him. I know what you mean about the clear-out and regretting a cast-off item. That happened to me recently too. Luckily my husband had not yet taken the pile of clothing to the charity and I was able to rescue my sweater from the pile...in the garage...where it had picked up some sawdust. :)

  16. I love a good clear put but have accasionally gone to look for something months later, only to remember that I donated it to the charity shop. I also saw a woman walking down the street in our local small town wearing a (very distinctive) blouse that I had donated, quite an odd feeling, especially as she was quite a different size and shape from me..... 17. I gave away a skirt once, and then instantly regretted it. Like the second it was out of my hands. To this day I don't know what came over me.
The guinea pig rocks by the way.

  20. Love your guinea pig so you are sorted for experimental cooking nights (though it is slightly alarming that guinea pigs are needed for them - hopefully not as part of the menu!). March is definitely a good month and it's so good to feel the days getting longer again. Clear-outs and de-cluttering are highly over-rated in my opinion (at least that's my excuse for the mess around here) xxx

  21. March has been mighty fine here too... And we have snowdrops coming into bloom--earliest ever here! Pancakes AGAIN Day--yes, bring it on! ;o) Such lovely colors of felt... and sweets made from them... And looks like the felt and felties receive the much-required kitty-cat seal of approval... So sweet!! ((HUGS))

  22. Just reading through some of the comments and saw mine came through twice ....... oops.

Oh well this makes three, or it should - LOL

Have a great weekend - they say it's going to be a warm and dry Saturday in my part of the UK, so I'm planning a nice walk out and about.

    Happy Weekend

    All the best Jan
