an excess of cookie cutters

there was some gingerbread dough left over from the pinecones so I got out the other cookie cutters to choose a few different ones. apparently (according to the rest of the family,) it's not normal to have two large(ish) boxes of cookie cutters, and I have a ridiculously large collection of them. so many in fact that some escaped into the garden.

well I'm sorry but I beg to differ, we're going visiting tomorrow, and if I come across any cookshops I know what I'll be looking out for.

what do you have lots of, but can never resist?

  4. Ribbons, bangles, cake glitter, lip gloss, & toothbrushes (as well as pretty much all mentioned before)

It's just in case there is a shortage you know.....

  5. Cookbooks that I never look at. But that's about to change (New Year's resolution).

And vintage linens, yarn, wooden toy figures, essential oils, old china, books...and now that you mention it, probably cookie cutters, too. xo

But I'm staggered at Kristina's confession!!!

  8. Oh I'm exactly the same. Have started using them as decorations because I have so very many. But I cannot resist.
Ditto cookbooks and little bottles and string.

  9. Ahh, craft books, wool, embroidery threads, gardening books....

Cookie cutters? Why not, I say! Keep hoarding.

    Have a beautiful week.

  10. I haven't any room for stuff! I see so many things I love, but then remember that things fall on my head when I open the cupboards already.

We have a lot of glassware for different drinks that we bought YEARS ago and we never use; can't get rid, somehow. Our inner alcoholic is lurking in the cupboards...

  11. Well, I certainly don't think I have an excess, but the Mr seems to think there are a tad more knitting needles around the house than any sane person would ever require...

  12. I once recieved a present with a cookie cutter attached with some pretty ribbon next to the label - looked gorgeous. Maybe you could use up your excess in this way? Unless of course they are too lovely to part with!!

  13. Completely normal in my opinion. My most recent and ongoing "oh I just must have that one" is the buying of jelly moulds. I will have to stop soon but it's so hard ....

  14. Totally normal. I have way too many cookie cutters, can't count the number of cookery books and enough craft/sewing books to open up my own market stall. When I think how much money is investing in that lot, it makes me shudder .. but I get over it quickly!

I used to have dozens of eiderdowns, but then sold a lot. Still miss them!

  17. It is not possible to have too many cookie cutters. Really. And I have now realised that I do not have any reindeer cutters. My lust for them is warring with the sheer awfulness of actually going shopping anywhere at all between now and mid January....
