project improv

Jacquie of Tallgrass Prairie Studio has started a quilting challenge called project improv. The idea is that you don't follow a pattern, or a strict fabric collection, but make it up as you go along...........

Everyone in the group committed to make one block each which will go to make as many charity quilts as possible, each block would be log cabinish, this one is mine for the blue/green quilts.

after years of trying to keep straight it's both strangely liberating, and incredibly hard to be wonky!

but fun.

  2. I love the colours on this. Great idea too and very freeing not have the limitations of preciseness and all that!

What a fun idea too with the snowman. I miss having little people about I must say.

  3. I saw that challenge, and I must confess it scares me. Maybe when I'm a grown up quilter I'll be brave enough but now ... it makes me shiver!

Yours is lovely though - good for you!

  10. Wonderful colors on your block and I love the idea of making it up as you go along. I have been pleasently surprised at times when I just make something up instead of following a pattern.

  11. Tried to comment at the kitchen table - I think a little pebble got between me and 'Publish your comment' button! Gorgeous colours - just up my street, and I love the random angles - what a fab project!
