Hello September. Gosh you got here quick. I'm not quite ready for early mornings, and school bags, and making sandwiches, and uniforms just get, so if you'd like to go away for a few more weeks that would be fine. I'll have extra August. I'm not ready, we still need to buy school trousers, and I have no idea whether the school ties are in a safe place. I'm not at all sure about anything on your list September, there is no chance of me remembering passwords, I write them in a secret place......... but I'm happy to try notice small things day, it would be gracious to celebrate be lovely to everyone day and who can resist be thankful for pineapples day!
Do you have fun plans for September? Are you excited by new stationary, or dismayed by the lack of autumn flowers in your garden? Does anyone else think this summer went really fast, or was that just me?
Not just you, it absolutely flew by. I'd quite like a few bionic mornings, and I'm always thrilled by the thought of a new notebook and pen. The grass is soaking this morning and the sun is quite low. I can feel autumn around the corner, whether we're ready for it or not. Wishing you a lovely September, and I hope you find those ties. I don't need to locate ours until half term, phew. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteFortunately no ties here but school trousers are in need to be taken up. Last D of E expedition next week, gulp! Oh and a new job to start very soon. September you have my head in a spin already.
ReplyDeleteeeek, new job, and D of E, lots of things to plan for! Hope all goes well x
DeleteDefinitely flew by too fast. My sons are ignoring the fact that next week they'll have to be up a whole five hours earlier than they're currently rising. My daughter will have that pleasure on Friday as year 7 has their first day at the new school without all the older kids around. There is much to sort out this week! The best bit will be stationery shopping :-) Here's to a gentle introduction to the new school year and at least a few mornings of bionic-ness x
ReplyDeleteoh yes, mornings don't exist in the holidays do they! I hope the quiet day goes well for your daughter, they do that here too, the new intake and the first year of 6th form are the only ones to start today, so E has another day off, and he is very smug about it!
DeleteSo not ready for september. An extra August really does sound like a plan. What I have taken from this holiday period though is to get outside and do more with my family, a walk does not cost a fortune so I have no excuses. Have a good week and hope you find the school ties. Leah xxxx
ReplyDeleteI am welcoming September, but then we are way passed the back to school flurries. And though I absolutely loved my long years as a teacher, I am very happy that I don't have to ready myself any more.
ReplyDeletep.s. Love what your calendar notes underneath the "blowing bubbles and kisses" part. Made me snort my early morning coffee on the computer screen.

It does seem to have come round super quick this year. I'd quite like 'thankful for pineapples' day but only if it's the tinned variety. Sadly, the fresh kind hurts my tongue - too much bromelain! Can I join your campaign for a bit more August please? xx
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about fresh pineapple, it can be a bit tingly can't it! perhaps if we mixed it into cocktails?
DeleteThis summer went really fast, at least it did in Wales. Extra August sounds like an excellent idea to me. At least school days are behind us now, or they are until the grandbaby starts the whole thing off again in 2019!
ReplyDeleteIt flew. I can't believe how quickly it flew.
ReplyDeleteMe too. August never stood a chance, the wheels were already off the chariot in July.
ReplyDeletewe should complain to someone about it. I wonder who?
DeleteI hope that you can get all ready for back to school and find lots of great things to do in September! We need some autumny flowers here too! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm realising that time in general seems to be going by too fast... Hard to believe my little one just turned three, or that it's almost a year since we lost my mum.
ReplyDeleteThe summer's been a bit disappointing: cold, wet and windy for the most part. But I adore autumn and am excited it's almost upon us again. Preschool begins today though and we haven't got some of the things on the list... Can't imagine what it'll be like once he starts school next year!

Schools here go back mid August so we have had a couple of weeks of school mornings, but yes its been a fast summer, and now....... well it feels like we have been back at it for weeks. Roll on the October break lol. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteVal
x
yes, roll on the October break I quite agree! x
DeleteI'm feeling a bit stunned that the kids are back to school tomorrow. I have no idea where the past 7 weeks went. Very very scary! xx
ReplyDeletethey went so so fast x
DeleteYes, August has passed in a moment it seems. Hope you get all nicely sorted for the new term....I still love some new pens and notebooks too. Happy September, Tess.

Summer, what little we had of it, has disappeared in a flash. In a way I'm glad we're into September and can just forget about the summer that never was. Time to get on with September and the autumn and everything else that's coming. I love new stationery! I love sniffing it!!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, new stationery!
DeleteI'm currently dismyed by the lack of warmth - it's so cold and damp here! But I do like the fresh start feeling of the new school year.
ReplyDeleteso so cold and damp here too............
DeleteSeptember already? Surely not. Where did the summer go? And did it go? Still very hot around here.

Yes, it did go fast, but I always find the six weeks holidays plenty long enough. By the end we are all ready for some routine again. I don't know if I want another August, but I'll take another heat wave and a couple of sea swims before autumn truly sets in. xx
ReplyDeleteI think I need an update just to reassure myself that the son did not have to go to school without trousers. Of course you might be playing Extreme Frisbee in which case I'll hang around until October.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your little calendar post, but this one does seem to have come around alarmingly quickly! We are now into week 4 of the new term in Scotland, looking forward to half term 25th-28th now! X
ReplyDeleteIt is NOT September.... it is NOT September..... it is Not.....
ReplyDeleteOh bugger it, it's September.
I'm hating the fact it is September. I really hate this month...it means 'loosing' the kids back to school again and the return to boring routines and arguments!!
ReplyDeleteAugustember, I'm calling it, and expecting the sun. *looks outside at the rain*
ReplyDeleteoh I love that name.
Deleterain here too. and grey.......

ReplyDeleteLOVE SEPTEMBER! the routine is a little hard to get into again... but the light is so glorious! (and my AGA is already on...
ReplyDeleteTotally not ready for September here, so very much with you on needing more August. Our school uniform shopping was done with a day to spare, by which point all the shops we tried had masses of white polo t-shirts for all primary ages, quite a few pale yellow ones too but absolutely no pale blue ones. And I'm sure we've had this problem before, you'd think shops would have a better idea of what proportions of colours to get :( Be thankful for pineapples sounds a bit random, is this the ideal season for pineapple harvesting do you think?
ReplyDeleteSeptember seems to have flown by too! Hope the new term is going well!
