October

Hello October.
You are Miss K's favourite month.
Well apart from December, but then that has Christmas and birthdays and so it wins.....
Miss K loves you because of Halloween. Even at nearly 17 she loves it. Spiders and pumpkins and decorations and this year we'll be joining in with a Guiness world record attempt for the most people dressed as witches in one place.
I'm less keen on Halloween personally, although I suppose I can make soup of out the pumpkins so it's not all bad.....

I am looking forward to be proud of yourself day, I'm happy to join in with  feed some ducks day
but most of all I'm excited for duvet day.

Happy October everyone.

  1. Every day is 'feed some ducks day' round here - if I forget, they tap on the patio doors to remind me! Duvet day I could happily do though. I'm quite partial to Hallowe'en too, although I could happily live without Bonfire Night. Here's to a happy October. xx

  2. 'll have melted cheese on NOTHING, but I think I can get on board with everything else. (Chortling about the mob of witches.) And Tess, the sun is shining Up North for the fourth day in a row!!??!! Hope you are reveling in it. xoxo

  4. I'm not a halloween fan myself, but generally October is a lovely month. A mass coven of witches... Hmm. Good luck!

  5. Always my favourite month and not just because it's my birthday. Autumn leaves, bonfires, long walks and now with cheese on everything! xx

  6. Oh I love October. I am not keen on Halloween and will pretend I don't exist... but I am all for a duvet day. I hope you are getting another one of those calendars for next year! x

  7. Halloween was a big thing when the boys were younger then it sort of fell out of favour - shame really as I love the make believe and dress up of it all! Might be time to reinstate it this year :)

  11. Haha -- I LOVE these new calendar day posts! You're always so funny! I think Duvet day would be my favorite -- although I don't have a duvet, so I'd have to cheat with a quilt. And I can't wait to see your pictures from the witches gathering -- sounds like a great bit of fun!!!

  12. Enjoy your witches coven. I too will pretend I don't exist for Halloween and will be partaking of the odd duvet day if time permits but mostly definitely duvet afternoons :)

  13. I like September but October is usually so cold and full of dirty weather I'm not keen.
I love the early evening hours of Halloween when the littlies come round all dressed up with a parent watching on from the end of the drive (and checking their manners which always makes me smile).
I would like a duvet day but they only come along when I am poorly!

  14. Happy October! I am quite up for October this year, getting my winter woollies down from the loft this week, and rather relishing the prospect! The witchy record attempt sounds like fun X

  15. When is duvet day? Please tell me it's a Saturday or Sunday when I am free to join in? Or I shall be slightly miffed.

  16. Love the sound of your witchy record attempt! I'm not particularly big on Halloween either, and I don't even like pumpkin soup, but I do love pumpkin seeds at least. And October is a birthday month round here so that's always good. All the rest of it sounds pretty appealing, and yes, especially the duvet day!

  17. Happy October Tess. I think I will combine melted cheese on everything with a duvet day, bliss!

  18. I quite like October myself. It's a cosy month and isn't quite full blown freezing cold just yet. Amy is going to her first grown up party for Halloween. We're already working our way through a list of rules, do's and don'ts. She's only interested in dressing up as Poison Ivy and doing her make-up though. xx

  20. October is a lovely month..perhaps my favorite. Your calendar pages always make me chortle...I can relate to the "at least I hope that's what made the warm patch."

  22. Oh this is ducky duvet cheesy joy. I am learning to if not love, LIKE October, with its golden twinkly light. I used to loathe it so this is progress. I adore the thought of that world record. Please alert me to the official duvet day. Thank you xx

Oh and what a brilliant list of authors for that wildflower book you mentioned. Off to look it up

  23. Oooh, I like the sound of all three of those days! I may just invent some 'days' myself. Am sure there would be takers out there! Autumn is so lovely this year, possibly because of so much late sun and lack of wind. xCathy

    1. I quite liked October when it was sunny, but today's rain and grey skies aren't making it my favourite month...........
