randomness
After a long day then sometimes the only thing that will do is a walk on the beach, I love the long shadows the evening sun makes.
A charity shop find finally had a makeover, and it's big brother rescued from a skip got covered to match. They are incredibly useful as the cats really like to sleep on them, which means I stand a chance of getting to sit on the sofa.
The cats also like to sit on the fence. Freddie also likes to do yoga on the fence it seems....
I am helping with an allotment plot with the local ranger group, we need to make a scarecrow and it is very tempting to make one like this.
Finally. Bluebells. The only free morning I had this week was spent hunting for them.
Time well spent. x

Amazing charity shop and skip diving makeovers. I love Freddie's yoga position - is that a 'downward dog'?! I do wish that I lived closer to the sea - we could do with blowing away a few cobwebs at the moment. Have a good week. x
ReplyDeleteFreddie is excellent at yoga. he does climbing tree pose too! x
DeleteLucky you having a beach nearby for a stroll in the evening - completely deserted - wonderful. Love that fabric too - matches your sofa perfectly. That scarecrow is genius - it would scare me off!
ReplyDeleteOo, Mollie has cat footstool envy! They're great and would get snapped up here by cats, kids and...feet. Love that scarecrow. Looks like it would be very effective. J x
ReplyDeleteOh how fantastic to be able to have an evening stroll on the beach! I really miss living by the sea. The fabric you covered your stools with is gorgeous - they look amazing.
ReplyDeleteit is truly special living near the sea xxx it's lovely fabric isn't it x

those footstools are fabulous!!! I love that fabric. Yes to the beach, and to the bluebells, and obviously that is the ultimate scarecrow. Millie does a similar yoga pose to Freddie every morning, although not on the fence!
ReplyDeleteLoved your random things post, Tess. The footstools look great with their make over. An evening beach walk is so refreshing....love those long shadows. We are off bluebell hunting now too, on a blustery Sunday afternoon.

Random is good! I sometimes Imagine I am flexible like a cat (when I am creaking down the stairs sideways first thing in the morning). x
ReplyDeleteLove those footstools Tess, they look do sturdy and adaptable How clever of you to upcycle charity shop and skip finds! X
ReplyDeleteHey Tess,
ReplyDeleteLooking for bluebells is always time well spent. Why do they excite us so? I am admiring your footstools. Did you cover them yourself?
Leanne xx
yes Leanne, with the help of a staple gun, one of my favourite toys..........
DeleteI love loong shadows...
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I would happily go for a walk on the beach right now. Love the footstools, the fabric is gorgeous, nicely done. The scarecrow is fabulous, quite terrifying. Enjoy the week Tess. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a VERY good downward-cat pose! ;o) Those footstool turned out lovely--the indigo/print cloth is wonderful! Maybe we need a footstool for our Charlie--he takes ALL the furniture... LOL! Bluebells... *sigh*... Happy Days to you all there. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the foot stools! Did you dye the fabrc yourself? I only have a little veggie plot in the back garden but I'm seriously considering a scarecrow now I've seen that. Thank you for sharing! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely getting to that time of year when evening walks on the beach are possible. And I love those foot stools, I would have to turf off the cats to put my feet up on them! When the boys were little we entered a scarecrow competition and made a spider scarecrow. But we did it a bit differently - we had a big, tall and slightly bendy branch (I've got a feeling it was a bit of hazel) which we stuck into the ground and then we dangled a giant spider from it, the body was a straw stuffed black bag type shape and it had 8 long pieces of garden twine coming out of it, each threaded with old, black flower pots all the way down. So when the wind blew, the legs blew around too, we thought that would be good and scary for the crows. We didn't win, we were robbed! I think the judges preferred something more traditional :(
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the stools. I can see why the cats like to sleep on them. For a post fence workout nap maybe?
ReplyDeleteThat is a very creepy scarecrow - I'm sure it will keep the other birds away (and possibly lots of people too!) Judy.
ReplyDeletewe could do with keeping people away from the allotment, it was vandalised recently and our shed and lots of things stolen..........
DeleteI love that scarecrow!
ReplyDeleteHow're things?

I love the fabric on the footstool!
ReplyDeleteThose little stools are adorable. And you made me laugh out loud with your cat yoga comment -- my cats are so fat, I don't think they can do yoga!
ReplyDeleteI really like your footstools. The scarecrow is definitely scary. Bluebells are lovely aren't they, there are loads in our local park. I'm on the hunt for elderflowers so I can make cordial but I think it might be too early. xx
ReplyDeleteit's too early for elderflowers here, but keep looking, it's lovely to make x
DeleteYour footstools are just beautiful and I love the shot of the cat. Makes me smile on this early Saturday morning. Wishing you a lovely and peaceful weekend filled with all things that bring happiness.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that scarecrow is perfect.
Love that scarecrow, he would scare anyone.
