In January when I sorted out my fabric and had a massive folding session I also sorted out many many strips of different sizes.
These are the 2 inch strips and they are slowly becoming a bright and random log cabin.
Each block is part white, and part one colour, with the logs selected at random.
I'm having lots of fun choosing where each block might go, there is absolutely no plan.
When I run out of strips, I'll stop.
This is amazing! gosh you have made me want to try quilting again and I was really put off there for a while! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Annie
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm a big fan of scrap quilts.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! This is going on my 'to do' list. I made a black and white log cabin for my son years ago and have been meaning to make another as they are so easy to make. Such a great way to use up the scraps.
ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful! My friend made me a scrap quilt and I love it.
ReplyDeleteTotally magical.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely!

oooh I shall look forward to seeing this progress! A brilliant project.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Tess. I really like scrappy quilts. They're the best kind because the pieces come from all over, different parts of your life.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous - can't wait to see it finished. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely and I like your random colours, they totally work! I find random difficult and have realised that actually I work a lot faster when I plan colours, it stops a lot of procrastination and faffing about. Although with all the colours you have there I would probably have given up. Looking forward to the finished quilt x
ReplyDeleteWow! Stunning! Love it X
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful, I am hoping to make something similar this year. You have inspired me to get started :)
ReplyDeleteIt's looking really great!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing! I admire your hard work - can't wait to see the finished product. Judy.
ReplyDeleteOooh, looks like a fun and wonderful quilt Tess! Those are the best kind -- where you can just make it up as you go -- very pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! I love the combination of white and colour! xx
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I live a scrappy quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness..this is just beautiful. All I can think about is ascending joyful stairs on the "going up part" and being enclosed and protected with the warmth and goodness of the descending stairs. Perhaps that makes no sense to anyone, but I just do feel that.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm liking this one very much. You have enviable oodles of colour confidence.
ReplyDeleteI really love this one, somehow it looks vintage and fresh at the same time to me. I really like the white with it and you're making me want to play with Log Cabins. Please finish this one up soonish for us to see!
