scrap quilting part 1.

In January when I sorted out my fabric and had a massive folding session I also sorted out many many strips of different sizes.

These are the 2 inch strips and they are slowly becoming a bright and random log cabin.

Each block is part white, and part one colour, with the logs selected at random.

I'm having lots of fun choosing where each block might go, there is absolutely no plan.

When I run out of strips, I'll stop.

  3. Gorgeous!! This is going on my 'to do' list. I made a black and white log cabin for my son years ago and have been meaning to make another as they are so easy to make. Such a great way to use up the scraps.

  6. It's beautiful, Tess. I really like scrappy quilts. They're the best kind because the pieces come from all over, different parts of your life.

  8. That is lovely and I like your random colours, they totally work! I find random difficult and have realised that actually I work a lot faster when I plan colours, it stops a lot of procrastination and faffing about. Although with all the colours you have there I would probably have given up. Looking forward to the finished quilt x

  14. Oh, my goodness..this is just beautiful. All I can think about is ascending joyful stairs on the "going up part" and being enclosed and protected with the warmth and goodness of the descending stairs. Perhaps that makes no sense to anyone, but I just do feel that.
