a conversation in the car

E: "daddy why does the entrance to the tunnel look like the tube on the hoover?"
Me: "daddy don't forget to toot the horn"
E: "Why mummy?"
Me: "because Grandpa always does it when we drive into tunnels, you have to toot to scare away the bears."
E: "there are no bears mummy"
Me: "well of course not, we've tooted the horn."

  1. Awwww.. We always have to put on our space suits and decide where in the universe the tunnel will take us today ...

  2. Hee hee! I am glad to see that tunnel-tooting is a universal phenomenon. Love that scented heart, too.

  3. Horn tooting obviously works in the same way as tinkling a windchime to scare away the under the bed monsters- teehee! Keep childhood alive as long as possible I say!
PS your treasures made me smile too

  4. Bears in tunnels - yesss. Shall remember than one.

Spotty ribbons always make me smile!

    Love the bears story.

  9. My dad always used to use a "cautionary horn" when going over humpback bridges.

There is one particular bridge from my childhood which will always be known and the BiBip Bridge.

  10. you little tunnel conversation made me smile, too.

    how precious.
