Since I started blogging I have learnt a great many things from a fantastic range of places. I have learnt to crochet, been inspired to bake, joined quilt-a-longs, and photo challenges, made and met friends, planted flowers, and learnt more about a community of friendship and inspiration than I could possibly have imagined.
to the bemusement of my family and friends I photograph everything, write lists in notebooks of things to make/bake/create and have a favourites bar on the computer that is so long they can never find the links to cbbc or the premiereship table.....
I hadn't realised just how much my life had changed though until I tried to photograph a few things recently.
first there were the purple tinted meringues, the white plate they were heading to the party on just wouldn't do........
and I couldn't work out why, so I sat for a while and thought about it, and I realised it was Alice. From Alice I have learnt that there should be plates for scones, and the correct bowl for strawberries, not forgetting the biscotti plates.
the burden of responsibility is immense. I hope this pale pink plate does justice to the first egg.
I could not agree more! I look at everything now through "camera eyes", changing flowers into different containers, drinking tea in different cups and moving cushions around the house. My family think I have gone (even more) mad!
ReplyDeleteYour meringues look heavenly and the pale pink plate is just perfect :) x
I always enjoy your photos and blogging is not only fun, it's great to be learning so many things too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Anne xx
A whole new world opened up to me when I discovered blogging!
ReplyDeleteThe plate is perfect with your first egg - how will you eat it?!
I totally agree with you and find it so encouraging and inspirational to know that there are people out there who care about the same stuff and will get it then i go mushy over the softness and colour of yarn or the perfect recipe.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the first egg. It looks gorgeous on the pink plate
I very rarely take pictures of my plates, because Alice would not approve. They are mainly white, and come from Ikea.
ReplyDeleteThe egg looks fab on that plate.
(and it is a great privilege to be one of the friends you have met)
ReplyDeleteIs it Myrtle's?
ReplyDeleteNot only have you learnt lessons, you have taught some too.
Thank you, Ax
Hurrah for the first egg! And I really do need some more exciting plates... K x
ReplyDeleteYay! An egg!
ReplyDeleteAnd all our plates are chipped so you're way ahead of me in the styling stakes.
Ha that's funny but I agree ! The first egg is so exciting - I jumped for joy !
ReplyDeleteOh yes, these things matter and I think the egg looks perfect. Boiled already?
ReplyDeleteI hereby declare that this is the winner in the "best punchline for a blog post EVER." Congratulations on that lovely egg (and please give my praise to the gal who laid it, too)!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you!! Blogging enriches everything - it makes you more visually aware, and there are others to share it with who appreciate it too! Your meringues look fabulous, and the plates are perfect.

So very true, blogging teaches us so much. My camera is like an extra limb to me these days, I snap everything. The egg looks great by the way.
ReplyDeleteHi Tess. Thank you so much for the fabulous prizes! So much goregousness in one small parcel! There are some pics over on the blog. Laura xx
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely plates! It seems that I have successfully converted you to china love. And I must say that I had never thought of an egg plate or a meringue plate so that gives me two excuses to go and buy more china loveliness.
